Supporting Neurodiversity in Offices

Creating enabling workplaces for neurodivergent people.

Client British Council for Offices
Project Designing for Neurodiversity
Challenge Those who belong to the neurodiversity community are currently underserved by and often unsupported in the current employment ecosystem. How does the development and design industry create workplaces that support equitable employment opportunities and enabling places of work?
Methods Community Interviews, Desktop Research, Design Frameworks
Outputs Report
Outcomes The real estate sector is equipped with a report laying out the lived experience of being neurodivergent and office based employment. A full scientific breakdown sets the scene for how designers, developers and other consultants can problem solve in situ to create better solutions. The report delivered principles and recommendations allowing for companies to create their own guidelines and advocate for official regulations that protect the dignity of an often marginalised group of people. The project was delivered in collaboration with PLP Architecture
